Categories
- Traditional Quilt Category
- Works featuring traditional patterns and designs.
- Original Design Quilt Category
- Works featuring free-ranging patterns, and innovative designs and techniques.
- “Wa” Quilt Category
- Works featuring traditional Japanese colors and patterns, or Japanese scenes and cultural motifs (entries need not be fashioned from traditional Japanese fabrics).
- Junior Category
- Works by individuals or groups of individuals under the age of 15 (who are under the age of 15 by the application deadline).
- Framed Quilt Category
- Put your quilt in the frame (any genres of designs are accepted).
- ・ Work should be quilted using techniques like piecework, applique, embroidery etc.
- ・ It (frame) should be able to be put on the wall.
- ・ Work is judged with it framed. Attach a photo of the work framed.
- ・ The balance between a work and a frame is important, but the frame itself is not subject for judging consideration.
- ・ Take off a glass or acrylic on the surface of the frame.
- ・ The frame size should be within 50 x 50 cm. Any shapes ( square, circular etc.) are accepted as far as the size fits in the fore mentioned. The frame can be bought or handmade. Total weight should be within 2 kg. The work including a frame should be within 5 cm in thickness. Mats can be used if within the size of the fore mentioned.
- Bag Quilt Category
- Hand-made bags featuring patchwork or quilting.
Entries must not exceed 115 cm in total dimensions (excluding handles).
Even if an entry item consists of two or more pieces such as sub bag, only one main bag is judged.
- * All entries (except those in the Bag Quilt Category and Framed Quilt Category) should feature quilt work in a tapestry format (Works featuring crazy quilting, slash quilting, and pojagi quilting are also acceptable).
- * Entries must not exceed 250 cm in total dimensions (length & width) and must not exceed 5 cm in thickness.
- * Works need not be rectangular in shape (e.g. oval, trapezoid, etc.), but should be able to be hung from a rod.
